UFC color commentator Joe Rogan is one of the most connected individuals in the MMA world. Not only is he such an essential figure in the UFC, but he is also a standup comic and one of the finest podcast hosts of recent times.
His podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, has been running for almost a decade and has featured a number of notable guests. Joe Rogan shared what it was like having legendary boxer Mike Tyson as a guest on his podcast show in a recent episode.
Rogan admitted that Iron Mike’s presence intimidated him. He said,” it was just intimidation. It was terrifying. I changed the size of my table because of him… Then after doing the podcast with him I was like, ‘I don’t want to be close to him. I’m scared.”
Rogan continued,” That’s when he was getting rapped up to fight Roy Jones. After he left, I turned to Jamie, and I was like that’s totally a different person. We had him on was like 10 months ago and he was a super mellow stoner. He’d been smoking a lot of weed. Like he wasn’t even working out. I asked him why do you not work out and he said ‘I don’t want to reignite my ego.”

Joe Rogan on Charles Oliveira missing weight
The former UFC lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira, was stripped off of his title before getting into the octagon against Justin Gaethje and UFC 274. This was because the Brazilian missed weight by a mere half a pound at the weigh-ins. Many slammed the UFC for scrutinizing Oliveira for over only half a pound, whereas many supported the decision that UFC made.
In a recent episode of his podcast show, Rogan addressed the incident.
Rogan said, ” He (Charles) is a very very nice guy and he got screwed in his last fight. There was some shenanigans with the scale. Some people had messed with the scale… He would weigh in or he weighed in like the night before the weigh-ins, he was ‘like oh I’m good to go,’ and then in the morning he goes and shows up for the weight cut and it’s a pound plus off. And that is directly related to this calibration thing calibration issue”
