“Salty Crybaby” Denny Hamlin Unjustly Ridiculed by NASCAR Fans for Ryan Blaney Black Flag Suggestion

Denny Hamlin wasn’t a happy man after the All-Star Race. The reason is quite simple: the Joe Gibbs Racing driver felt NASCAR didn’t take the necessary measures, or let alone necessary, the ‘right’ measures towards the eventual race winner, Ryan Blaney.

The race at the Texas Motor Speedway ended in controversy following a late-race caution and overtime. And Hamlin believes NASCAR should’ve taken an extreme measure, which he was convinced was not only part of the rules, but also, the right thing to do.

According to journalist Bob Pockrass, he said after the race, “nascar should have black flagged blaney.”

So Hamlin saying what he did earned him a lot of criticism and ridicule from the NASCAR fans. While there were a few that agreed with his ‘suggestion’, most of the reactions were directed towards him not being able to accept his defeat.

What else did Denny Hamlin say after the race?

After the race, Denny Hamlin elaborated on his frustrations with NASCAR.

“This isn’t a Denny Hamlin judgement call,” he said. “I’m just saying, ‘Whatever the rule is, let’s be consistent and play by the rules.’ It’s unfortunate because he made a mistake.”

He argued that Blaney should’ve won the race the first time as he was 100 yards away from the win, that “many cars have not won races” because of a mistake at the end, and that “those things happen.”

The #11 driver added that he is confused about whether or not it was a “moral problem” they had, to not cost him the win so they conveniently threw the caution at the end.

“I think they just had a moral dilemma instead of just playing by the rules like they’re supposed to.”
